Osabarima Owusu Baafi Aboagye lll is the Chief of Akyem Dwenase, Akyem Abuakwa,
Ghana. He is a professor at Boston University, teaching courses on planning and landuse
law, and environmental law. He has over 20 years of government and academic
experience working with various entities in addressing environmental health issues in
communities in Ghana. He is the recipient of the United States Environmental Protection
Agency’s Gold Medal Award, and 2019 Suffolk University Law School Outstanding

Lee Makowski

Lee Makowski is Professor and Chair of Bioengineering at Northeastern University,
Professor of Chemical and Chemical Biology and a Fellow of the American Institute for
Medical and Biological Engineering. His previous positions include Director of the
Biosciences Division at Argonne National Laboratory, Program Director, National Science
Foundation and Director of the Institute for Molecular Biophysics at Florida State
University. He has been working with collaborators to address health care concerns in
Ghana for the past 6 years.

Sam has a Northeastern U BS in Mechanical Engineering, and an MBA. He engineered
medical & biotech systems earning 19 US patents. Sam has developed devices with
Engineers Without Borders for under resourced communities worldwide, lectured 9 years
at UC Berkeley on starting & growing entrepreneurial ventures, was CEO of Silicon Valley

Thelma Asare
Medical Director
Dr Thelma Asare is an obstetrician gynecologist in private practice in Baltimore. She is a
graduate of Mount Holyoke College, Yale University School of Medicine and completed her
residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. She has had a long-standing interest in improving
health care in her native country, Ghana.
Francis Agyare
General Council
Francis is an immigration attorney and owner of Agyare Law Group with offices in
New Hampshire, Massachusetts and admitted to practice in Ghana. Francis had
worked with NH Catholic Charities, as an adjunct professor with the UNH School of
Law, and as an Intellectual Property lawyer. He earned his graduate degrees in
Molecular Biology and Genetics (York University, Toronto, Canada) after serving 6
years in the Canadian Military.
Marc Fuller
Director of Engineering
Marc Fuller is an electrical engineer who has spent his career in various areas of
biomedical engineering both in industry and academia. He has held appointments at
Worcester Polytechnic Institute, U Mass Medical Center, U of Utah Medical Center, and
currently at the Northeastern University Bioengineering Department. He has worked for
Siemens Medical, Draeger Medical, and Philips Health Care. He works with students and
engineers both at Northeastern and in Ghana on designing medical instruments for the
developing world.
Brad Martin

Brad Martin has been practicing law in Massachusetts since 1979 with a focus on
entrepreneurial businesses and corporations. In the course of his practice, he has helped
form and advise multiple non-profits in their projects both in the US and other countries.
Brad serves on several non-profit boards and for 16 years has been an active participant in
construction and clean water projects in Central America.
